The Jack in the Box Chipotle Chicken Club combo is back. Jack in the Box delivers another great tasting combo meal at a value price. In this combo, you get a drink, fries and a hearty 9.3 ounce spicy chicken sandwich, all for just $4.99.
To sample the Chipotle Chicken Club I went to the Jack in the Box at 9337 Mission Gorge Road, Santee CA, 92071. I tried the sandwich on two different occasions from this location. For my first visit, the sandwich was great. The second visit was not so great. There were many problems with my second visit. First, the sandwich was cold. The chicken was dry and overcooked. The hickory smoked bacon was also overcooked and too crunchy. I got a horrible piece of lettuce that was only the hard white core. If I had not already had a good experience with the first Chipotle Chicken Club sandwich I would have had to give this sandwich a big thumbs down.
My first Chipotle Chicken Club was much better, so I am going to base my review on my first visit. To start of with, on my first visit I was served a hot and fresh sandwich. The spicy chicken breast patty was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The hickory smoked bacon had good flavor and just the right amount of crunch. The lettuce was green and crisp and the tomato was fresh. The toasted sourdough bread held together well. Even with the spiciness of the chipotle sauce, the American cheese flavor still comes through. The chipotle sauce adds the right amount of spicy that does not overstay its welcome. The mild and spicy ingredients work well together to balance out the flavor of this sandwich.

With the success of Taco Bell’s Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco, they have introduced the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco. So, how does the Cool Ranch Locos Taco version compare for taste and nutrition to the Nacho Cheese Locos Taco version and to the Original Crunchy Taco.
Of course, I have had the Original Crunchy Taco from Taco Bell many times over the years and I like them just fine. Therefore, with the introduction of the Nacho Cheese version I was sure this would be a hit for me as the Nacho Cheese Doritos Chips are my favorite flavor of Doritos. Sure enough, that was the case. I did like them even better than the Original Crunchy Taco. Now that the Cool Ranch Locos Taco is available, I figured it would be good but would not be better than the Nacho Cheese Locos Taco.
To find out which taco tasted better I went to the Taco Bell at 9825 Mission Gorge Road in Santee, CA. This is a small Taco Bell but is very clean and well run. My tacos were hot and service was good. I tasted the Original Crunchy Taco, the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco and the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco. I did not taste the Supreme versions of these tacos at this time. Read on the find out how these tacos compare for taste and nutrition. I am also including the Nutrition Facts for the Supreme versions.
Taco Bell’s Original Crunchy Taco
I do like Taco Bell’s Original Crunchy Taco. The corn taco shell is crunchy with a mild corn flavor. Taco Bell’s seasoned beef is not overly greasy and can only be described as “having that unique Taco Bell taste”, and I mean that in a good way. The shredded lettuce is fresh and crisp. Finally is the real cheddar cheese that has a little bite that rounds out the taco nicely. I also like the fact that Taco Bell does not deep fry their tacos like other fast food places do.
At first glance, the Nutrition Facts for Taco Bell’s Original Crunchy Taco do not look too bad. However, looks can be deceiving. The fact that this taco is only 170 calories seems good. However, 90 of those calories come from fat, which is over 50% of the calories in this taco. The total fat at 10 grams and saturated fat at 3.5 grams are also high for the size of this item. Some good news though is that the cholesterol is decent at 25 mg. Other positives on nutrition are that dietary fiber is good at 3 grams and Protein is very good at 8 grams. The following are the known allergens for the Original Crunchy Taco: milk, wheat and soy. Also contains Gluten that may cause sensitivity for some people. Unlike the Doritos Locos Taco, there is no MSG in the Crunchy Tacos.
Taco Bell’s Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco
The Taco Bell Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco contains the same ingredients (Seasoned beef, shredded lettuce and real cheddar cheese) as the original Crunchy Taco. The only difference is that Nacho Cheese Doritos Chips are used to make the shell.
The Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco shell tastes very much like regular Doritos chips. The texture is a little different lacking the air bubbles found in the chips and not as crisp. However, it is still very good. The Nacho Cheese shell does take center stage with this taco overpowering the rest of the ingredients making this the main flavor. When I first tried this taco back when it first came out, I found the powerful nacho cheese flavor to be a definite plus. However, after tasting the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco I am rethinking this thought. Read the next section to find out what it is.
Nutrition Facts for Taco Bell’s Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco is about the same as the Crunchy Taco. Calories are the same at 170. Calories from Fat are reduced to 80 to bring this taco to fewer than 50% of total calories coming from fat. Total Fat grams are reduced by one to give you 9 grams of Total Fat. Saturated Fat is the same at 3.5 grams. Trans Fats are zero. You lose a gram of fiber with only 2 grams for fiber and finally Protein is the same at 8 grams. The following are the known allergens for the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco: milk, wheat and soy. Also contains Gluten and MSG that may cause sensitivity for some people. Note: the Crunchy Taco does not contain MSG.
Taco Bell’s Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco
The Taco Bell Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco also contains the same ingredients (Seasoned beef, shredded lettuce and real cheddar cheese) as the original Crunchy Taco. Again, the only change is that the shell is made from Cool Ranch Doritos Chips.
Again, Taco Bell was able to duplicate the taste of the Cool Ranch Doritos Chips in this taco. The difference here is that the Cool Ranch flavor complements the rest of the ingredients instead of overpowering them. I was still able to enjoy “that unique Taco Bell taste” of the meat that makes this a Taco Bell taco. I am surprised to say that I do like the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco better than the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco. It is a better combination of flavors that go together well without overpowering the taco. Summary
For taste, you can not go wrong with either the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco or the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco. Try them both to see which one you like better. Do not just go by the fact that you may like the Nacho Cheese or Cool Ranch Doritos chips better than the other one. As I found out I actually like the Cool Ranch version better as a taco then I do as a chip out of the bag.

It has been widely reported that McDonald’s Egg White Delight delivers 50 fewer calories than the Egg McMuffin. However, you need to know all the nutrition facts to determine if those lower calories translate into a healthier sandwich. Taste is also an important factor if you are going to include the Egg White Delight as part of a healthier diet on a regular basis. I will cover in detail the Nutrition Facts for the Egg White Delight compared to the Egg McMuffin. I will also let you know how the Egg White Delight stacks up for taste.
Ingredients for the McDonald’s Egg White Delight
McDonald’s did more than just remove the yoke from the Egg McMuffin to create the Egg White Delight. Almost every ingredient has changed.
Let me start with the Egg Whites. In the past, fast food restaurants have had a bad reputation for delivering less than real food. However, in this case McDonald’s really does deliver real egg whites and nothing more. No fillers, no artificial flavors, no long list of ingredients that look more like a science experiment than food. The egg whites are also prepared using liquid margarine.
Next is the cheese. Here McDonald’s replaces the Pasteurized Process American Cheese with Pasteurized Process White Cheddar Cheese. With the main ingredients consisting of real Milk, Water, Cheese Culture and Cream, this cheese is looking good.
The English muffin used for the Egg White Delight is also new and has 8 grams of Whole Grains. The Whole Grain English Muffin used in the Egg White Delight will also replace the English muffin for all breakfast items that use an English muffin. The English muffin also has liquid margarine sprayed on.
The Canadian bacon also looks good. McDonald’s Canadian bacon starts with real pork. The rest of the ingredients are standard for making Canadian bacon. This is the same Canadian bacon as is used in the regular Egg McMuffin.
All in all the basic ingredients for the Egg White Delight do make for a wholesome breakfast. There is not much in the way of extra ingredients. There are a few preservatives used but this is normal for the ingredients used.
Tasting the McDonald’s Egg White Delight
It seems that the April 22 date was not the official start date for the Egg White Delight. It was really the date that the product was to start shipping to the restaurants. So, I was not able to get an Egg White Delight on April 22. It was several days before I finally found one at the McDonald’s at 2796 Main Street in San Diego, CA. It was not on the menu yet but I was able to ask for one. As usual for this particular store, the service was fast and friendly. The Egg White Delight that I was served was hot and fresh.

The egg whites had a good volume that made them light and fluffy. I like the White Cheddar Cheese better than the American cheese. The mild flavor complemented the egg whites without overpowering it as I think the American cheese would have. The saltines of the Canadian bacon works very well with the egg whites. I thought a whole grain English muffin would be dry and grainy. However, McDonald’s is somehow able to provide a healthier better tasting English muffin while maintaining the consistency of the original. Overall, I like the mild flavor of the Egg White Delight.

McDonald’s has created three new wraps. These are the Premium McWrap Chicken & Bacon, the Premium McWrap Chicken & Ranch and the Premium McWrap Sweet Chili Chicken. Each of the McDonald’s Premium McWraps comes with either grilled or crispy chicken.
I want to start by saying that in the past I have not been a fan of wraps. I find them cold, soggy, flimsy, lacking in flavor and not very satisfying. However, McDonald’s with their new Premium McWraps may have solved these shortcomings.
New Packaging for the McDonald’s Premium McWraps
To solve the cold and flimsy problems with wraps McDonald’s has created premium packaging for the Premium McWraps. Instead of wrapping the Premium McWraps in paper like its Snack Wraps, it now comes in a box that fits the McWrap perfectly. The box comes with a pull tab says “RELEASE THE FLAVOR” and arrows all the way around the middle. When you remove the pull tab completely, you will be able to pull off the top. The box keeps the Premium McWrap warm and keeps it from falling apart as you eat it.
Reviewing the McDonald’s Premium McWraps
To review the Premium McWraps I dinned in at the McDonald’s at 2796 Main Street in San Diego, CA. The restaurant was very busy with lots of customers when I arrived. The lobby stayed busy during my entire visit. Even though the store was very busy, the lobby was clean and the service was fast and friendly.
During my visit, I tried two of the three Premium McWraps. I wanted each Premium McWrap served hot and fresh so I ordered each one separately. I had the Premium McWrap Sweet Chili Chicken with Grilled Chicken first, followed by the Premium McWrap Chicken & Ranch with Crispy Chicken.
McDonald’s Premium McWrap Sweet Chili Chicken (Grilled)
The Premium McWrap Sweet Chili Chicken (Grilled) comes with a grilled chicken breast filet cut into pieces, crisp cucumber slices, spring greens, shredded lettuce, sweet chili and creamy garlic sauce, wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.
First impressions are that it looks good and is big enough to be a meal. The tortilla and chicken were warm and stayed warm enough during the meal to remain satisfying. It seams that the box may have helped with that. The Sweet Chili and Garlic Sauce combined well to give this McWrap flavor without being overly spicy. The cold of the crisp cucumber was a nice surprise with each bite. Unlike Wendy’s Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwiches that ran out of chicken before it ran out of bread, the McDonald’s Premium McWrap had chicken in every bite. My only complaint is that the filling did fall out when I got near the bottom. Folding the bottom of the tortilla could have prevented this. The filling did stay in place for my second Premium McWrap though, as it had a fold on the bottom. Looks like someone may have forgot a step with the first one.
Health wise the Premium McWrap Sweet Chili Chicken with grilled chicken is the healthiest of all six McWrap combinations. I liked this Premium McWrap equally as well. I was sure that my favorite Premium McWrap was going to be the Premium McWrap Sweet Chili Chicken. However, both were good and I could recommend either one. The rice vinegar and buttermilk ranch sauce was not too thick so it mixed well with the rest of the ingredients to make this a very flavorful meal. The crispy chicken is battered and breaded so the outside has a little bit of crispiness without being too crunchy or hard. The tomato, cool crisp cucumbers and spring greens give some extra texture to the McWrap that also complement the flavor. The Cheddar jack Cheese was hardly noticeable but I am sure it contributed to the overall great taste of this Premium McWrap.
Overall, the Premium McWrap Chicken & Ranch with Crispy chicken is still on the healthier side of the fast food menu. However, it is one of the least healthy of the Premium McWraps. Only the Premium McWrap Chicken & Bacon with the Crispy Chicken comes out less healthy. Total calories for this Premium McWrap are 590 and calories from fat are at 260. Wendy’s introduces two new menu items. The Smoky Honey Mustard Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the Asiago Ranch Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Wendy’s is looking to bring the quality of higher end fast casual dinning to quick service. In this review, I will cover the quality, taste and nutrition of Wendy’s Flat Bread Grilled Chicken sandwiches.
For this review, I used the drive thru at the Wendy’s at 9655 Mission Gorge Road in Santee, CA. I placed my order and then pulled up to the window to pay. When I reached the window, they took my money and gave me my drinks and most of my order but the Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwiches were not ready. After several long minutes, they finally handed me the rest of my order. Because Wendy’s is making these to order as you would in a fast casual restaurant it takes a little longer. In the long run this may be an issue as drive thru lines will take longer and food will not be ready at the same time causing the quality of the rest of the order to suffer. In addition, customers expect food to be prepared fast from a fast food restaurant. Without educating their customer, they may end up with some unhappy patrons. When I was waiting for my order there was no explanation as to what was going on. I was just told to wait for the rest of my order. This would have been the time to educate the customer and let me know that the Flat Bread Grilled Chicken sandwiches are made to order and take a little longer to make in order to insure the highest quality, or what ever marketing phrase they want to get the message across.
From Wendy’s website, the Asiago Ranch Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich brings a bold flavor to chicken sandwiches. With a toasted multi-grain flatbread, grilled 100% premium chicken breast, Applewood Smoked Bacon, a fresh-sliced tomato and spring mix topped off with ranch dressing.
Wendy’s states that they “worked with culinary experts to create the perfect five grain flatbread, carefully crafted by artisan bakers, including flax seeds, cracked wheat, rolled oats, millet and sesame seeds. The flatbread is warm and toasted on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside.” Therefore, I was optimistic for this sandwich. I expected great taste along with better nutrition. Unfortunately, I ended up disappointed with the Asiago Ranch Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich.
My first impression of the Asiago Ranch Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich was that it did look good, even if it was much smaller than it looked on the commercial. This should have tasted great but it just tasted like heath food. The bread was cold and dry. The graininess of the bread took over the entire sandwich. The Asiago Ranch dressing was not enough to overcome the graininess of the bread or to give this dry sandwich any flavor. There was not enough chicken to last for the entire sandwich. The final 1/3 was not worth finishing without the chicken.
All right, the Asiago Ranch Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich may not be the greatest tasting sandwich, but at least I thought I was eating something healthy. But I could not have been more wrong. When I checked the nutrition and found that this is just as bad as an average burger. The number of calories look innocent enough at only 530. However, the total fat is very high at 30 grams; this is 46% of your daily allowance. This is not health food at all. Saturated fat is also high at 8 grams. Cholesterol is average at 90 mg. Carbohydrates at 35 grams are good and you do get 3 grams of fiber. Protein at 30 grams is very good. The known allergens for the Asiago Ranch Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich are Wheat, Egg and Milk. Nervousness among them is a typical event of a body’s response to an sildenafil cheapest appalachianmagazine.com apparent or envisioned threat. If somebody looks agitated and irate all the time, it is about time that he or she might also act in a violent pop over here commander cialis and aggressive way. Immunity amplification and reduction in the risk of any health complications that may cheap viagra samples prove fatal if not addressed early. Permanent damage to the penis tissue is being reported tadalafil 20mg because of the long time erection caused by filling more amount of blood in the penis.
From Wendy’s website, the Smokey Honey Mustard Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich is a decadent mix of sweet & savory. With a toasted multi-grain flatbread, grilled 100% premium chicken breast, spring mix, fresh-sliced tomato and topped with smoky honey mustard sauce.
The Smokey Honey Mustard Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich is also a good looking sandwich. However, this was also a disappointment for taste. The same problems as the Asiago Ranch Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich exist for this sandwich. It was cold, dry, not enough chicken and the graininess of the bread takes over the sandwich.
The good news for the Smokey Honey Mustard Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwich is that it is healthier than the Asiago Ranch Flatbread. Calories are only 370. Total fat is good at 15 grams and saturated fat is 2 grams. Cholesterol is good at 55 mg. Carbohydrates at 38 grams are good and you do get 3 grams of fiber. Protein at 22 grams is also good.
